I have an osteoporosis diagnosis; now what?
Being diagnosed with osteoporosis can be scary.
Were you afraid and immediately started looking for what to do, but quickly felt overwhelmed with information? We see this happening in our community daily.
But we believe that being diagnosed with osteoporosis shouldn’t be scary. We think it’s a wake-up call to take action as soon as possible.
The problem is that most people start taking the wrong actions:
They look for supplements, vitamins, magical compounds that promise to make everything better, they buy expensive devices that promise to help, and look for isolated exercises for the spine, the back, etc.
But what if I tell you that all those actions are mostly a waste of money?
Most people take supplements they don’t need. A supplement is meant to supplement what we don’t get from the diet. If we take more, it is not better. Most of the time, improving our diet to include those nutrients works best. Not because they are taken from the diet, but because it helps you build the necessary habits of consuming bone-friendly foods to repair and build the cells in your whole body.
Same with exercise; you can not expect to do an isolated exercise for the spine, or the back, or the neck. Our whole skeletal system gets stronger when we load it properly, but you can’t start by loading it with more weight than you can bear to start. And starting a whole exercise program when you haven’t done anything previously is only a recipe for giving up quickly if not injured.
The secret is to start with simple, small steps to let your body adapt gradually.
But even before that, you have to build the habit of taking those actions and doing them on a daily basis to slowly but surely build the habit of including those actions in your life.
Not a lot at once, not hard, not complicated, not overwhelming.
Simple, gentle, doable, and one step at a time.
That’s how you build a habit.
And that is why * My Healthy Bones Daily Action * App was built.
To help you create the habit of doing one simple bone-friendly action a day.

Once you have followed and built the habit, it’s a good idea to add a gentle exercise program on some of those days using the same principles of one simple exercise at a time to let the body adapt.
And the good news is that yes, we are already planning on getting that done for you as well.
But first, let’s build those bone-friendly habits ![]()
